TechGrid serves as an expansive collaborative space, enabling the Navy to engage in direct partnerships with industry, academia, government and fellow military branches, breaking free from the limitations of traditional military bases.
Our primary objective is to foster connections between small businesses, industry, academia, and government, fostering a more cohesive innovation ecosystem that addresses the strategic priorities of our Command.
Through our regional alliances, we aim to facilitate innovation, experimentation, and rapid procurement, driving forward novel concepts and emerging technologies to empower our Warfighters with new capabilities.

Technology Transfer
Technology transfer is the business of transferring technology originally developed by the Navy to other government laboratories, government contractors, commercial entities or academia. All federal laboratories are directed by federal law to establish technology transfer programs to enhance our nation’s industrial base and strengthen the economy.
TECHGRID LAB
The TechGrid lab is a hands-on innovation space designed to accelerate prototyping, testing, and technology integration for dual-use applications. Outfitted with tools for rapid hardware development, software experimentation, and collaborative problem-solving, the lab provides startups, government teams, and industry partners with the resources they need to build and iterate on real-world solutions.
SBIR/STTR
The SBIR and STTR programs, also known as America’s Seed Fund, are one of the largest sources of early-stage capital for technology commercialization in the United States. These programs allow US-owned and operated small businesses to engage in federal research and development that has a strong potential for commercialization.
